Michael C. Madden

Michael C. Madden is an author, photographer and medal mounter. He is the founder and host of the podcast, Australia Remembers and runs his own, military medal business, in Berwick, Victoria. Michael was born in Noble Park, Victoria in 1973. He enjoyed a simple childhood growing up with his three brothers on the family's struggling dairy farm in Gippsland. His family became homeless for a time during the 1990s, but through hard work and sticking together, they pulled through.

Through his medal business, Michael has helped thousands of veterans and families with their medals. He was awarded Australia’s best medal mounted by APEC insider magazine in 2015 and his work has featured in numerous films and is on display in RSLs and museums around the country.

In recognition of his work on his latest publication, The Victoria Cross – Australia Remembers, Michael was made a patron and Life Member at The Victoria Cross Trust in the UK, an honorary life member at U.S Army Small Ships Association, and was appointed number 1 Associate Member at the Totally & Permanently Ex-Servicemen & Women's Association of Victoria.
